I finally was able to investigate the park along the road to the mall today and found some pretty neat things. First there was this neat typical New England stone wall and then a huge stone bridge built in honor of those from Hudson who fought and have given or will give their lives for this country. I couldn't get a good picture of the bridge because there was too many tree branches drooping in front of it, but the plaque was really memorable.
Hopefully I'll be able to go back to the park in the spring/summer and get some better shots of the bridge itself then. I think having a memorial bridge like that really helps to give a town a sense if it's history and show people how even home towns have played an important part in establishing our freedom as a country...
Well, I certainly have veered off topic haven't I? Back to talking about the park and the fact that the sky was really beautiful today. For the first time in days it was blue instead of that nasty greyish haze color, so I tried to take advantage of it by silhouetting this tree against it.
I also really liked how the treeline and sky were reflected in the water in this third shot. It's overexposed in places, but I still really liked how the water eachoed and deepened all the colors in the sky.
This shot is from the construction area for the new building across from us at work. I was starting to think I wouldn't have at least an interesting image for today... Fortunately, this was the first picture I took on my walk during lunch, which ended up being about the only time I found to play with my camera today.
I was at our main office today covering the phones and someone asked me how to fix this. The kicker is that tomorrow the screen will be mysteriously upside down. I wonder how that happened...
Sam enjoying the game the guys played at our place today. I just love getting shots of people who are completely oblivious to me being there with a camera. That way I can capture their emotions instead of self-induced euphoria.
Both Mom and I agreed this was an absolutely great picture of her. We were walking around taking pictures at Choate park and I had spied her taking pictures of me, which of course had to be stopped... ergo, in retaliation I took one picture of Mom and she happened to laugh as I did it. It was a really lucky shot and completely unplanned.
I took this one of Molly after I had come inside from taking some snow pictures out on the back patio. She was illuminated in some pretty nice natural light and since her eyes tend to light up like beacons when I use the flash, I took a few shots which didn't require it. She had just been rubbing her ear and hadn't quite recovered from it when I managed this shot.
